KIDS AND BLITZ - Busier weeks ahead!!!!
With the long year end school break just around the corner, there are plenty of events for Kids (and a fast crazy BLITZ chess for the young at heart) starting with the long Hari Raya Haji weekend next week.
DATCC 2nd SUPER KIDS WEEKEND – 5th November 2011
DATCC weekend event for kids continues next week starting with the 2nd SUPER KIDS CHESS WEEKEND open to all kids under the age of 12. The event is played over 6 rounds with a time control of 25 minutes per player to the finish. 2nd DATCC DESTROYER BLITZ WEEKEND – 7th November 2011
The earlier edition attracted many local players including Malaysia’s numero uno , IM Mas Hafizul Helmi – who had an early scare playing against yours truly. Will history repeat itself or will Mas Hafizul triumph the next time around? There are 15 rounds of really solid and fun blitz with each player having only 5 minutes to scramble to the finish. Entry fees is set at RM15 per player only with the winner to earn RM200 for his (or her) effort. Join NOW! THE NATIONAL SCHOLASTICS AGE-GROUP CHESS CHAMPIONSHIPS 2011 (Primary School Division) – 12th & 13th November 2011
This is the first part of the National Scholastic Event for primary school kids under the ages of 7, 9 and 11. The event is played over 7 rounds Swiss System with a time control of 1 hour to the finish. The entry fees for each player is RM35 and the event starts on Saturday, 12th November 2011 at 8:00am with players registration and Round 1 to start at 9:00am. DATCC is proud to be working together with MCF to manage and conduct this event for the kids! Come in an join the fun. THE NATIONAL SCHOLASTICS AGE-GROUP CHESS CHAMPIONSHIPS 2011 (Secondary School Division) – 19th & 20th November 2011
The second part of the Scholastic event will shift its focus towards the the secondary school kids under the age of 13 and 15. The event is played using similar format (7 rounds Swiss) and time control shall be 1 hour to the finish. Entry fees is RM40 per player and the players will need to confirm their registration on Saturday, 19th November 2011 at 8:00am and Round 1 scheduled to start at 9:00am.
