4th DATCC KL Team Open Chess Championship - Interesting Round 2
The saga continues...
The results for Round 2 was rather strange as some teams went down unexpectedly by perfect scores. The first perfect score was recorded on table 6 when CARIKOMPUTER DOT COM (of Saprin and family) won against BERNAMA when the latter forfeited 2 boards. For the remaining 2 boards, Saprin and his second son did well to maintain their advantage to score their first perfect score for the tournament
On Table 2, the DATCC SENIORS TEAM lost to TOO LESS ORDINARY by the same margin which caught most of the other participants by surprise. Ian Udani played well to score a point against IM Jimmy Liew whilst Team Captain Zaidan secured his first win in the event against Jax Tham.
On Table 4, 17 CHESS CLUB led by Ilhamuddin also managed to secure a perfect score against the RENEGADE TEAM led by MCF VP, Haslindah Ruslan. Haslindah did well at the start of the game but overlooked a crucial winning move early in the game that would have salvaged a point for the team.
For the rest of the scores, on table 1, the higher ranked NUSA MAHKOTA managed to fend off the resilient SEAHORSE PETRONAS 3-1, NAJIB's ROJAK TEAM drew 2-2 against KELANTAN and PJMIM also drew 2-2 against SWORDFISH PETRONAS.
