4th DATCC OPEN TEAM CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP - Starting 22nd October
With the continuing success of the weekly Team event which started in 2008, the Dato' Arthur Tan Chess Center will be organizing the 4th DATCC KL Team Open Chess Championship 2011 starting with Round 1 on Saturday, 22nd October 2011. The event will then continue on weekly basis (every Tuesdays starting at 6:30pm) for Round 2 to Round 8 before closing it with the final Round 9 on 24th December 2011.
This will be a FIDE rated event based on 9 rounds Swiss with a time control of 90 minutes plus 30 seconds per player. Each team is allowed to field up to a maximum of 10 players and the entry fees per team is RM400 (RM200 for Junior Teams).
The winning team stands to earn RM 2,500 for the effort followed by RM 1,500 for the second place team and RM 1,000 for the third placed team. There is a special prize of RM600 for the best company/government team and RM400 for the best Junior Team (provided all players are below 16 years of age).
