To all our readers, supporters and followers - wishing you SELAMAT HARI RAYA and SELAMAT HARI MERDEKA......

It has been a tiring 2 weeks but it was worthwhile and enjoyable. It is one event that I look forward to doing every year and my thanks to Hamid for inviting me to be a part of the organizing committee (2 years running) and the Chief Arbiter (for the past 4 years!) of this event.

As with any event, it was the sponsorship that we received from the SPONSORS (IGB, ASTRO, KLK Berhad, AmBank, Swensen, CitiTel Hotel MidValley) and the undivided support that we got from all the players, parents, teachers, supporters, fans and visitors that made the event a success. Kudos to all the of you for making the 8th Malaysia Chess Festival an event that we - as chess players and Malaysians, can be proud of. We can now look forward to make the 9th Malaysia Chess Festival in 2012 to be bigger and better than what we had this year!

All the results for the event - including the ASTRO Merdeka Team event, has been uploaded onto the chess-results website at

Thank you all and SEE YOU AGAIN NEXT YEAR!
