FIDE Arbiter Seminar - Registration still open but with penalty....
With the closing date over, a total of 21 aspiring new arbiters have signed up for the seminar, coming in from as far as Sabah and Sarawak. Other representation includes those from Johor, Kuala Lumpur, Kelantan, Pahang, Penang and Selangor. Missing from the list are representatives from Perlis, Perak, Kedah, Terengganu, Melaka and Negeri Sembilan.
There are also a handful of individual representatives from various parts of the country that have signed up for the seminar which will be conducted by none other than Ignatius Leong, FIDE Secretary General and he himself, a qualified and experience International Arbiter. Ignatius will be assisted by IA Bunawan from Indonesia and another local IA, Ibrahim Yaacob.
Although the closing date has lapsed, interested parties who wants to sign up for the seminar can still do so by contacting the organizer before 27th June 2011. State affiliates representatives will have to pay the full amount of USD150 to participate whilst for individual persons, an additional 20% fees as penalty shall apply on top of the normal fees. However, due to limited number of seats available, only 9 places are left for grabs.
The seminar is scheduled to start at 9:00am on 30th June (a day after MASUM concludes) and is scheduled to finish at 12:00noon on 4th July 2011.
