Opportunity to play with Australia Junior Players

Three Australia Junior players, aged between 11 and 13 years old, will be in town from 2nd to 6th of April and are looking to play in a FIDE rated event to earn and increase their rating. One of the player, 13 year old Ari Dale has a FIDE rating of 1901 whilst the other two, 11 year old Finley Dale and 12 year old Jack Puccini are looking to garner enough rated games to earn their own FIDE rating. Finley is estimate to have a FIDE strength of 1600 whilst Jack has an estimated rating of 1800.

DATCC is looking to organize a small 7 rounds FIDE rated (round robin or Swiss - depending on the number of participants) to include both adults and children with or without FIDE rating to participate in this event. Of course, more FIDE rated players are required to provide the necessary pool for a better chance to get/increase the rating.

Tentatively, the entry fees is set at RM100 per person to pay for rental of venue, arbiter fees and FIDE fees and the schedule for the event is planned as follows:

Date Day Round Time
2-Apr-11 Saturday Round 1 9:30am
Round 2 2:30pm
3-Apr-11 Sunday Round 3 9:30am
Round 4 2:30pm
4-Apr-11 Monday Round 5 2:30pm
5-Apr-11 Tuesday Round 6 2:30pm
6-Apr-11 Wednesday Round 7 2:30pm

Time control is set at 90 minutes plus 30 seconds increment per move per player.

As 4th, 5th and 6th are working/schooling days, the organizer understand the challenges that will be faced in getting the event off the ground but, in terms of exposure and experience, it will be a good platform for us to see how we fare against players from other countries especially for the juniors - where do we stand with regards to our preparation and understanding.

To ensure due preparation, there is need to confirm the number of participants at least 4 weeks before the event starts to see if it is possible to get it going.
