This is one of the more interesting tournament format to choose 8 young player for the final series to be held later in the year where qualifiers for the final circuit stand to win cash prize money.
For the event yesterday, Fikri Saleh displayed impressive run to score a perfect 4 points after putting aside Dominic Long in the final round and runner-up Hemant Sathish in the earlier round 3. It was also an impressive showing for 7 year Tew Chuan Le, who only started playing chess 2 months ago, to finish in 10th placing
One of the better part of the event was when Insofar Organizer, Mat Zaki Yeop invited some of the parents to give away the prizes to the participants. The subsequent quarter final leg has been scheduled for 6th March 2011

Second place Hemant Sathish
Third place Dominic Long receiving prize from Mrs Tew
Pravin Kumar in 4th place
