IM Mas Hafizul to play in Maverick Rapid Chess Weekend
Fancy a chance playing Malaysia's best player? Or watching him in action? DATCC is happy to announce that Malaysia's numero uno, IM Mas Hafizulhelmi has agreed to take part in the Maverick Rapid Chess Weekend later this month. Chess enthusiasts, aspiring junior players who wants to have a shot at playing against Malaysia's best player, this would be one of your better chance to do so. IM Mas who rarely plays in the local circuit due to work commitment, has recently voiced his interest to be active again and said that this would be one of the better events to "warm up and prepare" for the National Closed Championship in March.
So, is he playing in the National Closed? His diplomatic answer was "We shall see...". Taking things one step at a time, DATCC is proud to welcome IM Mas to our rapid weekend event and hope that his participation will generate more interested parties to take part, as a prep and warm up event for the upcoming National Closed 2011 to be held 2 weeks away from the Maverick Rapid Weekend.

Congratulations Najib and Mas. I hope more strong players come back to the circuit and we can recycle internal knowledge. I think this spirit of giving back will take us all much further. Thank you for your efforts.
