Goh, Shawn Winners At No Frills

5 December 2010, Kuala Lumpur – At the Excel Chess Academy today, Goh Xin Yen (Above 14000 Rating) (pix left) and Shawn Edgar Miranda (Under 1400 Rating) won the December 2010 edition of the No Frills Chess Tournament.

Goh beat 7 others including Jax Tham to become the December 2010 winner with 4.5/5.0 pts and a tournament performance of 1837. Andrew Soong came in second with 3.5/5 and newcomer Muhd Anuar Abdul Fatah in third with 3.5/5.

Meanwhile Shawn beat 13 other players in the under-1400 rating category with an incredible perfect score 5.0/5.0 pts. Shawn had a tournament rating of 1916! In second place was Kung Soon Heng with 4.0/5.0 pts and third was Siow Kah Qun with 4.0/5.0 pts.
