GM Cao Sang 2010 DATMO champion

Grandmaster Cao Sang of Vietnam is the new champion of the 7th IGB Dato' Arthur Tan Malaysia Open 2010 held in Kuala Lumpur. GM Cao Sang started strongly with 4.5 / 5 at the start of the 9 round tournament. The next three games were drawn against FM Nguyen Duc Hoa, GM Abhijeet Gupta and GM Wen Yang. In the crucial final round Cao Sang pulled ahead with a win against compatriot GM Nguyen Anh Dung to tie at 7/9 with GM Zhou Weiqi of China and IM S.P.Sethuraman. The Bucholz tie breaker gave Cao Sang the clincher to win the championship. Cao Sang takes home a winner’s purse of USD $4000.
