DATCC Super Supreme Rapid Weekender

Resident GM Ziaur Rahman of Bangladesh emerged as champion in DATCC Super Supreme Rapid weekender today followed by Amitpal Singh of india , Kamaluddin yusof , Nor Ilhamuddin and Abdullah Che Hassan for the top 5 placings

Abdullah Che Hassan almost created an upset against  GM Ziaur Rahman in the 4th round , offering GM a draw with only 35 seconds remaining for the GM with Abdullah having almost 4 minutes . Ziaur had a knight and a bishop   against Abdullah’s    bishop and 3 pawns. Even under the normal circumstances GM could not have won from that position, but Abdullah sportingly offered the draw

Arbiter and Organiser Najib Wahab had a good start , winning first 3 games before succumbing to Amitpal. After that Najib could produce the earlier form and finished 14 th

A total of 48 players took part in a 7 round Swiss format tournament, first to be held after fasting month and Hari Raya.

Many unable to play due to prior commitments including Raya open houses
