List of Participants - Another Update as of 24th August
There were more entries received over the last few days and the number of participants for the Merdeka Individual Rapid, Merdeka Team and 7th IGB Dato' Arthur Tan Malaysia Open Chess Championship continues to increase.
The ASTRO Merdeka Individual Rapid now has 73 players playing including 2 GMs from Uzbekistan - GM Iuldachev Saidali and Dzhumaev Marat. As more and more player flock to our capital, the number of participants for the event is expected to increase even more in the run up to the event start date.
The 67th team registering for the ASTRO Merdeka Team event is made up of 2 GMs from India - GM Laxman and GM Arun Prasad on board 1 and 2 and they will definitely be a team to be reckon with.
On the same note, for local players who would like to play in the event but do not have a team, please provide your name to the organizer and we will try to organize a team for you in the ASTRO Merdeka Team event. The 7th IGB Dato Arthur Tan Malaysia Open has already have 135 players registering, 35 more players than it had last year. With 56 titled players, this event is set to be the biggest DATMO ever since it started back in 2004. The full listing of players for the IGB DATMO event will be posted in the official Dato' Arthur Tan Malaysia Open website later this week.
Full listing of all the participants for the events including team breakdown for the Merdeka Team has been updated and is currently posted on the Malaysia Chess Festival official website at http://www.datmo.net
If you have registered for the events, do check your name and inform the organizer of any irregularities, or if your name does not appear on any of the list, and we shall make the correction immediately.
