Razzmatazz Rapid Chess Weekender

1st August 2010 Sunday – Mark your calendar and make a date with us for DATCC Razzmatazz Rapid Chess Weekender.


Following the previous two successful Rapid tournaments, (Razzle Dazzle Rapid Chess Weekender and Sizzling Rapid Chess Weekender), DATCC will be organizing its 3rd edition rapid event, notably the DATCC Razzmatazz Rapid Chess Weekender, held as usual at our newly expanded chess centre on Sunday, 1st August 2010 starting with player registration at 9:00am.


In addition to the 13 cash prizes up for grabs, this will be a nationally rated event aimed at giving local chess players the chance to earn National Rating points. We offer 5 main prizes in the main Open category, as well as 1 prize each for the best Under -12, best Ladies and 2 prizes each for those rated below 1400 and 1600. Following popular response, we shall also award 1 prize each to the best Veteran (above 45 years) and best Un-rated player, to attract those who are new to the local chess scene.


The participation fee for the DATCC Razzmatazz Rapid Chess Weekender is set at RM30 for adults and RM15 for children below 12 years of age.


As per previous, this event shall be played over 7 rounds (using Swiss Pairing System) starting with player registration at 9:00am, with each round scheduled to begin at the hour starting from 10:00am and concluding by 6:00pm on the same day. Time control is set at 25 minutes per player per game played to the finish.
