The first game started off well for Alia who outwitted her opponent in the endgame. The game lasted for about 4 hours when Nabila resigned as she was not able to stop black a-pawn from queening.

On Sunday, Nabila knew that she had to take control of the game to level the score. Trailing Alia with 1 point, anything less than a win would put immense pressure for her to equal the score in the final game to force it into a playoff. A loss by Nabila would hand Alia the title of the 1st Malaysian Women Masters and Nabila rose to the challenge to secure her first win in the 3rd game to equal the game to 1 1/2 - 1 1/2.

After 3 marathons, the last game which seal the deal for Alia was rather short lasting only 25 moves and lasted just about 2 hours. My only thought was that the final would go into a playoff and would be decided down the wire and was rather surprised that it was not. In the deciding game, with the bishop pair and an open firing line on the Kingside, Nabila underestimated Alia's attack and eventually thrown in the towel on the 25th move
