1st MALAYSIAN WOMEN MASTERS

Finally, with MCF to deliberate on the last 2 spots, 16 of our top women players will square off starting this Friday, 26th March 2010 to claim the rights to the coveted title of being the first Malaysian Women Masters Champion.

Time control is 90 minutes + 30 seconds per move.

Players will be seeded by their FIDE Rating first, and their National Rating second and paired based on the FIDE Match System format - Knock Out style i.e. 1 vs 16, 2 vs 15, 3 vs 14, etc. Players will draw for colors prior to starting their game and each pair will play 2 games against one another (1 as white and 1 as black).

In the event the score is tied, 2 Rapid games of 25 minutes per player will be played to decide the winner. If the score remains tied, an Armageddon style play where White has 5 minutes and Black has 4 minutes of play will be used to break the tie. In the event of a draw, the black player is declared the winner. Players will draw color prior to the start of both tie breaker games.

Players briefing and registration will take place at 9:00am on Friday, 26th February 2010 followed by a short opening ceremony at 9:45am. The round of 16 will commence at 10:00am with the second game to start at 3:00pm. Round of 8 (Quarterfinals) will be played the following day and the Finalist will be decided on Sunday, 28th February 2010.
