Justin Ong Wins The January 2010 First Saturday Series

Justin Ong is the Champion of the January 2010 First Saturday Classical Chess series with 5.0 points from six rounds of play on the final day of the two-day chess tournament at the Excel Chess Academy, Overseas Union Garden, Kuala Lumpur on the 3rd January 2010. Justin scored five wins and a single loss to his fellow colleague Lim Zhou Ren, who finishes in second place with 4.5 points. Lim scored 3 wins and three draws and technically speaking, undefeated over six rounds.

In third place is Abdullah Che Hassan with 4 wins, a draw and one loss to accumulate 4.5 points. While Nik Ahmad Farouqi, the Malaysian Inter-State Blitz Champion in Sarawak, was in fourth place with 3 wins, 2 draws and one loss to Justin Ong. And in fifth place is, surprise, surprise, Andrew Ooi, who plays for team DATCC in the current 2nd DATCC Kuala Lumpur Commercial and Recreational Chess League 2009/2010. For the record, Justin Ong, also plays for team DATCC.
