SMS Gold 1, with FM Nicholas Chan, IM Designate Mok Tze Meng Marcus Chan and Soon Wai Cheong emerged as Champions of this edition of Pesta Pulau Pinang and thus became the first team not from Penang to win the tournament. Homesters Mind Chess finished second and another KL team SMS Gold 2,comprising of Ian Udani, Kamaluddin Yusof, Nik Ahmad Faruqi and Abdullah Che Hassan finished third
