Match point supersedes total individual points

Final standings (match and ind. points):
1. RUSSIA    - 15 (24)
2. UNITED STATES - 13 (21½)
3. INDIA - 13 (21)
4. AZERBAIJAN - 12 (22)
5. ARMENIA - 12 (20½)
6. GREECE - 8 (18)
7. ISRAEL - 7 (17)
8. BRAZIL - 4 (12½)
9. EGYPT - 3 (12)
10. TURKIYE - 3 (11½)

Russia won the world team championship with 15 match points (24 individual points ), 2nd place goes to USA with 13 match points (21.5)

With match points deciding the winners 3rd place goes to India with 13 match points (21 individual points)

The biggest loser is Azerbaijan who would have finished 2nd based on individual points(22) but finished fourth with a poor 12 match points

A win for a team is 2 match points draw 1 lose 0.Azerbaijan has themselves to be blamed for drawing all four board against USA and a win would have guaranteed the silver.

Individual gold winners

Board 1:Hikaru Nakamura(USA)   6 points ( 8 games)

Board 2 Alexander Onischuk (USA) 6.5 points ( 9 games)

Board 3 Ganguly Surya Shekhar(India) 5points(7games)

Board 4 Shakhriyar Mamedyarov  (Azerbaijan) 8points(9 games)
